Waterproof vents and waterproof breathable membranes
Shieldzone waterproof vents use ePTFE waterproof membrane technology to provide a controlled gas and vapor path that helps reduce pressure differences and seal stress while resisting liquid-water and particle entry.
Vent selection should consider enclosure free volume, temperature or altitude change, allowable pressure difference, airflow at a stated test pressure, vent location, mounting structure and environmental exposure.
A waterproof membrane is the functional porous layer. A waterproof vent may be an adhesive converted membrane or an engineered threaded, snap-in or application-specific vent assembly.
